“I’ll join you when Hell freezes over! Dumbledore’s Army!”

“The odd thing is, Harry,’ he said softly, ‘that it may not have meant you at all. Sybil’s prophecy could have applied to two wizard boys, born at the end of July that year, both of whom had parents in the Order of the Phoenix, both sets of parents having narrowly escaped Voldemort three times. One, of course was you. The other was Neville Longbottom.”

#oh my god seriously though can I just say something? just that it's the differences between these two brilliant individuals is what made me love them but it is their similarities that I find so perfect and beautiful. Harry and Neville both lost their parents at such a young age, both grew up thinking that they wouldn't amount to anything extraordinary and had no idea of what lay in store for them. They had no idea of their abilities or of the part they would play in saving the wizarding world. Harry went from nothing and living in a goddamn cupboard to having the fate of wizardkind rest upon his skinny shoulders and had to deal with the constant attention a fame that he didn't know was attached to his own name and a huge feat to live up to that he didn't even remember after living years of his life in the dark both metaphorically and literally. Then there's Neville, my hero and I'm not ashamed to say it. Grew up with his parents legacy to live up to while his family members panicked that he would turn out a squib as if it were the worst thing in the world, and went as far as to drop him out a freaking WINDOW before being convinced that he was magical too. He was placed in gryffindor because the hat knew, that damn hat knew his potential even if he didn't. He was bullied, insecure, constantly judged and compared to his hero parents and made to feel insignificant when really he was a hero himself. He found himself with the DA just like Harry did, they both realised that they could be more than the labels that had been given to them and they both did it. They saved the wizarding world and I'm just so proud of them both, I really really am. #harry potter #neville longbottom is my spirit animal
